"Color me burnt sienna and ultramarine"

(gotta love Johnne Richardson's assignment titles)  We could only use ultramarine and burnt sienna for this watercolor assignment, which focuses on depicting warm and cool light. I painted my kitten, Biggie Smalls, caught in the act of tearing up toilet paper on my bed. Because she was inside (near warm lamp light) but next to a window (bringing in cool light) the picture was perfect for this assignment. The black of her fur was made by mixing pure burnt sienna and ultramarine together. I gave the painting to my mother for christmas.
