GRANDMA, PLEASE FORGIVE ME!

i know i have been neglecting my blog the last few months, i really just haven't had time to shoot all of my work, but thanks to the hallmark illustration internship application that was due yesterday, you will now be completely updated! ENJOY!

HALLMARK INTERNSHIP PORTFOLIO: You will obviously recognize most of this, but i added a few new things, and my digital signature. This kind of a "best of" of  my work, keeping in mind what hallmark is looking for. Two of my teachers who previously worked for hallmark helped me put it together

I will also add my latest work, which didn't make the hallmark portfolio cut, but i'll start with these

I just couldn't leave my Genevieve out of my Hallmark portfolio!

For my Constructing the narrative class, we had to create a comic, of sorts. Mine is obviously not traditional, but i think still successful and readable without text.

This was just something i did for fun over the summer.

Heres a new one- I am taking a "constructing the narative" class and we had to depict a "non linear" or  "random" narative. this deck of cards depicting a biker riding around a neightborhood was my creatvie solution. The deck of cards is functional and standard size. I printed them using lynolium blocks. The back of the cards are an abstract ariel view of a neighborhood, in the colors of a street. The color scheme for the deck is a slightly muted and more pastel vrrsion of the tradition black, red, yellow and white color scheme.

oldie, but goodie.
this is relatively new, from last semester. An ink and watercolor drawing of a picture patrick took of me for one of his assignments.

From foundations

This was the "final exam" project for my history of architecture class. I finally shot pictures of them! Defiantly one of my favorite projects, i made all of them in 3 days! exacto knifing multiple stencils for each image, silk screening, sewing and all! Each pillow also had an informational booklet that attached to the back with a button, that describe the history and relevance of the structure, and its connection with an existing kansas city building in about 3 paragraphs. What an endevor! i was truly proud of myself and the amount of work i could accomplish in such a small amount of time.

This is from my freshmen year ...OF HIGH SCHOOL. I still love it! I cant believe  i painted it when i was only 14

Obviously i couldn't squeeze enough pictures on here to do ut mural justice, but what an amazing project, so thankful to have been give the opportunity to be a part of it! So proud of the girls, and their families... i hope we get to go back and do the next wing soon!

Heres a new one- for my graphic for for illustrators class, we had to choose an artist we found inspirational and make a portrait of them using only type and shapes. I made Julliette Daisy Low, the founder of girlscouts, out of the girlsout promise and law.  ( Yes thats all hand drawn type!)

From Last years Calligraphy workshop with Carl Kurtz. What an amazing teacher , class, and project.
